Rock Family Church has grown and changed much since we began!
RFC's founder was Amy Lalli DeStefano, a native of Long Island, New York. Amy graduated from RHEMA Bible Training Center (also known as Kenneth Hagin Ministries) in Tusla Oklahoma in 1985. Originally known as Rock Ministries, Amy travelled with her husband Lou DeStefano and taught in local churches, various rented facilities and even hosted meetings in her home until Lou's passing in 1991.
1994 was a year of transition, both physically from New York to West Virginia as well as spiritually from an itinerant teacher to pastor of a church. The first meetings took place in a storefront on Greenbag Road. In 1998, Rock Ministries moved to it's current location at the corner of South Pierpont Road and Tyrone Road. In 2000, the church built and moved into the main sanctuary, called Phase II. The Phase I building was given to the Youth Ministry. Just before leaving this earth in 2005, Amy passed the mantel, vision and ministry to Rick and Lydia Shriver.
Pastor Amy's calling was to heal the broken hearted and to challenge the complacent. Today, that heavenly vision continues under the name of what we have always been, a church of strong families built upon the Rock of Jesus Christ!
